I strongly recommend those looking for a Domain/Web Hosting company to avoid Netfirms. While their description and prices may appeal to you, their technical support is often unhelpful (especially recently) and worse, you cannot count on receiving or sending Email, due not just to one but to two bad Email web clients in a row (with the first horrendous and the second taking almost a year to replace the first).

As an example of the latter, when they switched to the second client, they instituted a new maximum number of saved messages per Email Address. New domain users may think they will never hit this limit but after a few years you might; I did. Not only didn't they publicize this change, but the punishment was that messages after the limit was reached were simply dropped! You are not informed that you received the message, and the sender didn't get the Email returned so they thought you did receive it! Unforgivable.

Hi EdIsenberg,

Thanks for your posting regarding Netfirms service! I just want to bring to your attention that we also have an area where you are welcome to post reviews on specific providers and their services. For Netfirms Web Hosting you can post reviews here:

http://smallbusiness-domain.com/netfirms/reviews-hosting

Please feel free to post your comments and concerns about the company there as well. Also, for others who might be reading this, on all of our product review pages (http://smallbusiness-domain.com/domain_and_web_hosting_product_reviews), we have an area for users to submit their own reviews. We encourage this as other users will surely want to hear about the experiences - whether good or bad - that other customers have had.

Thanks!
